SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield Select Board accepted a longtime volunteer's resignations from the Finance Committee and Council on Aging and cleared eight one-day liquor license dates for Dewey Hall events. Town Clerk Phyllis C. Joyce briefed the board on the November 3 town election, including a two-card ballot driven by nine statewide questions, an October 24 voter-registration deadline, and a mail-ballot postmark deadline of November 3.
"Please do not put your ballots in the black box," Joyce said, urging residents to use the town's official drop box instead. The board also heard that National Grid plans hazard-tree removal on Miller Avenue, Depot Square, Berkshire School Road and Salisbury Road, and that Sheffield has three candidates running for two School Committee seats this fall.
