Sheffield Select Board Approves Liquor License Transfer for New Lodge Restaurant

SHEFFIELD — July 20, 2026 — Sheffield Select Board unanimously approves liquor license transfer for restaurant planned at 650 North Main Street. The board voted to transfer the license from the former Frog restaurant to 650 Provisions, LLC, whose principals James Hendrick and Paul O'Connor — veteran operators of more than 13 bars and restaurants — plan a log-cabin-themed pub tentatively called the Lodge, with breakfast service beginning as early as 6 a.m. and a dinner close around 8 or 9 p.m. The board also unanimously appointed Larry Gould as building inspector, Charles Cohn as constable, David Ulrich as fire chief, and Madison Van Dusen to the fire department, all for one-year terms. In a separate informational presentation, attorney Bill Martin of Lenox and restaurateurs Peter and Jenny Unger described plans for a 24-to-48-seat farm-to-table restaurant on a working Sheffield farm, seeking a property of 40 to 100 acres; the board took no action but offered to facilitate introductions to local landowners and suggested advertising in the Sheffield Times.
